No One Knows How to Eat Food

In an astonishing moment of clarity, the author of this post realized that no one knows how to eat food. His personal testimony to the travesty is as follows.

During the last month, I’ve paid close attention to how people eat. No one is doing it right! I’ve witnessed people committing food atrocities, such as:

  • Stuffing food while watching TV
  • Eating while engrossed in smartphone activity
  • Grabbing food when bored
  • Eating because they’re stressed out
  • Eating when it’s “time to eat”
  • Inhaling food, not chewing it
  • Making every excuse known to man to justify overeating

The author has also noticed himself among the guilty! What’s to be done? Learn to eat food properly. This will help you enjoy food more, lose weight and make all your dreams come true.

Should we just say it straight? Eating in the above ways makes you fat.

How to Eat Food

Eating food as follows will make you slender.

  1. Eat only when you are hungry. Physiologically hungry.
  2. Eat what you want to eat.
  3. Stop eating when you are no longer hungry.
  4. Wait until you are before eating again.

This is ALL you need to do to lose weight.

People hire life coaches, nutritionists, health coaches, therapists and so forth to lose weight. If you’re paying for knowledge,  you can know that you don’t need any more than the above. If you need help implementing the simple steps above, then get it from a coach or consultant, absolutely.

The Real Test

Losing weight is simple enough. The challenge is what to do with yourself when you stop eating for all the wrong reasons. People who eat when they are bored or stressed, for example, often find themselves with time on their hands. They’re no longer eating when bored, so now what?

Figure out something to do with your time that does not involve eating. Simple, but it can be challenging at first. The same goes for emotional eating. How are you going to process those emotions when you’re no longer stuffing them with food?

You might consider eating for the wrong reason to be an act of self-sabotage. Just thinking of it this way could be motivating.
